Norfolk

The staggering beauty of the remote north Norfolk coast never ceases to attract film-makers. The county's pristine coastline is incredibly diverse, from its high clay cliffs to remote marshes and mudflats to the silt expanses of the wash all interspersed with large tracts of sandy beach.

Norfolk’s extensive waterways stretch for 200kms and the Norfolk & Suffolk Broads is the UK’s largest wetland with a huge variety of wildlife living in its rivers, lakes, marshes and fens. Contrastingly, the distinctive Breckland areas comprise of vast forests, heath land, arable fields and unspoilt countryside.
From the medieval town of Kings Lynn’s docklands which have transported many a cinema-goer to Dickensian Britain to the bustling seaside town of Great Yarmouth, the rolling, unspoilt countryside is punctuated by charming market towns, quaint flint cottages, some of the finest churches in the country and magnificent stately homes such as Holkham, Blickling, Felbrigg and Oxburgh Halls. The historic city of Norwich's architecture offers film-makers the medieval, the Tudor, the modern and the fantastical. The city has two stunning cathedrals, a wealth of historic buildings and vibrant modern shopping areas. Norfolk is also well furnished with quality boutique hotels, B&Bs and guest houses, but if its caravan parks you need the county is only too happy to oblige!
