Film Link offers a free introductory agency service for productions seeking crew and facilities company contact details available 24/7 via our website.
Film Link also offers a free introductory locations service up to the first 20 enquiries on any one feature film, TV series, or 'block' in the event of an ongoing drama such as EastEnders or Holby City.
Due to funding constraints, and to ensure sustainability of the service for locations, crew and film-makers alike, we have had to introduce a fee structure for some of our services which is detailed below.
We undertake to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours of receipt (excludes weekends).
Sourcing locations- All on-line searches are free 24/7
- Once a project enters pre-production, the first 20 enquiries seeking location ideas, location contact details and/or local authority contacts are free to all productions regardless of budget
- After 20 enquiries an hourly rate of £50 (plus VAT) becomes payable
Film Facilitation
Film Link, our partners and sponsors across the East of England will do everything they can to accommodate the needs of film-makers.
Where scenes are more complex and therefore require the team's specialist knowledge and contacts, or on the rare occasion that a 'trouble shooting' service is needed, Film Link offers a comprehensive film facilitation service at an hourly rate of £50 (plus VAT and expenses).
Services for location owners- Transfer fee of £20 (including VAT) to transfer from Screen East's database to Film Link to cover administration charges and ensure promotion via Film Link's website
- Registration fee of £30 (including VAT) to register a new location - this is a flat fee for up to 3 locations
- Commission. Film Link is not a commercial locations library. We therefore do not charge a commission on location fees unless we have been contracted to provide a specialist service to the location owner such as hosting recces, fee negotiation, or film facilitation. In such cases the commission is 10% of the location fee
Shoot day collection
Film Link collects shoot days from location managers and location owners which are held confidentially on our database. This is to enable us to estimate the value of film and television production to the East of England.
Why do this? The value of film and television production to the GDP is the statistic which helps inform the government as to why it is important to the UK economy for them to support the filming industry. Collectively regional figures provide a business justification for retaining the tax credit offered to feature films.
Similarly, these statistics are vital to securing regional production funds, and encourage local council film-friendliness and support for the filming industry.
Crew & facilities services
Film Link's crew and facilities database has contact details of all those registered on our database. It is searchable 24/7 and registration is free of charge.
If a crew and/or facilities search is requested of Film Link this will be compiled in a word document and sent electronically. An hourly rate of £20 (excluding VAT) will be applied.
