Hertfordshire

Home to three studios, Hertfordshire is only too happy to welcome film-makers. With its ease of access to London, unrivalled transport routes and links to the major airports – Heathrow, Luton and Stansted - busy metropolitan areas have developed alongside charming market towns and quintessential English villages which regularly appear on the small and silver screens. What Hertfordshire lacks in coastline it makes up for in rich rural landscape, ancient woodland, lakes and historic houses. Over half the county is protected with lush woodlands and river valleys evidenced in the magnificent Chiltern Hills, Ashridge Estate and Hatfield Forest areas.
Hertfordshire is home to the historic city of St Albans with its magnificent Abbey Cathedral. St Albans streets have accommodated both period and modern dramas and feature films. In contrast Borehamwood and Watford's quiet residential and shopping areas have double regularaly for London, a mere 12 miles away. A stone’s throw from Borehamwood and Elstree Studios, are palatial residential properties, private manor houses, country parks and farmland as well as three of the county’s most popular estates for filming being Hatfield House, Knebworth House and Wrotham Park each with their own unique offer.
